Welcome to Neverland

After a strong four days in the Most Magical Place on Earth for the inebriated, a last minute trip to Disneyland was a welcomed change of pace. My life altering case of food poisoning had finally decided to pass for good and I was ready to stand in lines for hours and hit up some awesome rides! Churros were a plenty, laughs & smiles were abound and my eyes were skimming for photo subjects! Unfortunately, I was sane enough to leave the 5D Mark II at home, so I opted for the iPhone and Camera+ app to capture all the magic! I'm definitely feeling slide film and cross processing lately; good thing there's an app for that! Enjoy!

100th Post!!

We did it, friends! We made it to 100 blog posts on STV! It took about a year and a half but the dream has finally come true. This is definitely a major milestone for the blog and I am very proud to have reached it. A lot of hard work and careful thought is contained in this blog and I'm so very appreciative that the medium exists for me to express myself. You followers have been most kind and supportive of the journey so far and without folks like you it wouldn't have gone this long or far! Thank you so much for being a part of my art & culture; I am quite flattered and truly honored! I love you!

To celebrate the occasion, here are some photos I took with a smokin' hot Canon macro lens. The lens in particular is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM. It's fantastically sharp and the Image Stabilizer is quite effective. Normally I'm not a fan of IS but in this case I may make an exception. Anyways, enjoy the eerie photos and keep being inspired!

Did I forget to mention this is the first post made with my new Mac Book Pro?! I'm so cool! Big things happening here on the STV front, thanks for stopping by!

Art Saving Lives

I had the pleasure of meeting two very interesting and inspiring young ladies on the weekend. They are Lauren and Jocelyn and they are amazing artists! winJuan and I had the honor of being interviewed by the two ladies for an upcoming vlog feature they are doing on local Calgary artists. They are big fans of the Rad Men 365 Project and wanted to find out what inspires us to be photographers. They were a lot of fun to hang out with and it was a perfect way to enjoy an amazing Sunday afternoon!

The ladies have an art show coming up at the Higher Grounds Cafe in Kensington on June 19th 2011 called Art Saving Lives. It's going to feature amazing live performances by the wonderfully soulful Jocelyn, as well as other talented local musicians and spoken word artists. Be sure to check it out and support local art!

To help promote the show the ladies asked winJuan to do a photo shoot for their poster. I thought it would be a good chance to get some behind the scenes candid portraits of the ladies in action. MAD #BAMPS!

MMMMMmmm tasty....
